Surfin’: Tasia Sangs
The Tony Awards were this past Sunday, and it was pretty difficult for me to miss them. It was either go to one of my breeder friend’s house to sit around watching the long boring ass telecast with her fiance or hit the half naked men filled streets of West Hollywood for Gay Pride. Guess which I chose?
Why is it that every gay thing has to happen on the same weekend? Spread it out a little, gay planners! ANYWAYS, I finally got to watching (fast forwarding through 2 and a half hours of snooze) and caught my GIRL, Fantasia, kicking some serious Broadway ass. Check her out singing from The Color Purple and you will know why I haven’t been happy with an American Idol contestant since she won three years ago. You better go, Tasia! Now if you could just make an album I wasn’t embarrassed to play out loud….

Hear me now and believe me later, do NOT waste your money on The Color Purple. It sucks major donkey dick. I didn’t see it with Fantasia, but I don’t think even she can save that piece of shit.

When I first heard the recording of Color Purple, all I could think was WHY DOESNT ANYTHING RHYME?!?!?!? AAAAAGGGGHHHHHH
But damn Fantasia had me cryin like a little bitch.
I am happy Fantasia must now have the money to better support her family….. life is hard without and she sure did without while carrying around that amazing set of pipes…..

hey dsc – od-tv saw Color of Purple with Fantasia a few weeks ago and he said she was awesome. Come to think of it he didn’t mention how the rest of the show was. Hmmm.

That’s a fair point, HB. I actually saw it before it went to Broadway. It had it’s world premier here in Atlanta as a test run before hitting the Great White Way. It was so universally panned by critics and audiences that they had to do a lot of revamping before it opened on Broadway. Maybe it’s better now. At least I got to see it for free when it was here. (I’m pretty sure I got laid afterwards too, so that was a bonus.)
