Trash Talk: The Sopranos Ending is Still Pissing People Off

trash talk: Tuesday, March 13, 2007David Chase has still not confirmed whether or not Tony got whacked in last Sunday’s finale, but he has come out and said the theory about Bobby and Tony’s conversation on the fishing boat being a premonition is the “most accurate”. Bobby says when it’s all over, you won’t even know it because everything will go black. Uh…so he did die? AAARGHHH. I’m sorry I’m not deep enough to be ok with it all. I can’t be the only person left who just. Needs. CLOSURE!

Haven’t said much about the finale here because, really, what is there to say? I figured Tony got his ass shot. The ones I was angry about not having an ending for were his other family members. Watching Carmella and the the kids deal with the reprucussions of Tony’s murder could be a whole new series. Carmella renovates the mob! Anyhoo, not here to argue the point, because we will never know. Just came across an awesome video that may help explain the blackout, Godfather style. Check it out.

That scene is why I never sit out in the open in an Italian rest. and why I never have my back to any door at any rest. I’m a nervous Italian.
I hated the Soprano ending that night, but the next day I liked it. The suspense of the final scene, will Meadow be able to park that car? Will the oinion rings be greasy? Too much to handle. Chase never did tie up most of the story line with a neat bow. I knew he wouldn’t here either.

I’m with U flipit, I thought at the minimum Tony got it, and though i loved him, I still liked that interpretation better than nothing happened. My friend goes on and on about the whole family getting it, but I don’t see the evidence. would it have been too much to ask of Mr. Chase to have a gun shot sound before the black screen? I need closure too!
