Trash Talk: Hillary Clinton Prays and Prays and Prays
CNN Proving Democrats can whore out Jesus just as much as their Republican counterparts, Hillary R. Clinton assured moderator Soledad O’Brien at a Faith and Politics Forum at George Washington University that it was prayer and faith that got her through her husbands infidelit(ies)y. Well, that and a new house in Chappaqua, support in a bid for the White House, and an open ended invitation to Gayle King to stay in the Guest Bedroom whenever she wanted. Ok, ok, she didn’t say that, but you know Christ had nothing to do with her staying with Slick Willy.What does she pray for? “Sometimes I say ‘Oh, Lord, why can’t you help me lose weight?’†Clinton said. “Sometimes, you know, it’s obviously praying for discernment, for wisdom, for strength, for courage. Praying for my family and my friends.†How bout a haircut not sported by 75 percent of Rosie fans?Why hadn’t we heard about all this praying til she began her bid for the Big Boss seat? Well, she comes from “a tradition that is perhaps a little too suspicious of people who wear their faith on their sleeves.” Then she said she loves to pray, was raised to pray, she’s a praying person, and yay pray. Ugh.Oh, Hill. We’ve already got one party pandering to the Bible thumpers, please just LEAD. PLEASE. Drop the act and be the hard core bitch we all know you are. We don’t need you on your knees, we need your Prada heels up the world’s ass. Just sayin’.
Kind of sad that with all the problems going on that the candidates need to address (Iraq, immigration, affordable health insurance), CNN takes up air time to make the candidates pander, I mean discuss their religious beliefs. Yes, faith is an important part of this country’s foundation and its citizens’ everyday lives but getting the candidates to compete for who can be more holier-than-thou just muddles the issues we REALLY need to be focusing on.
